My wife has been using this USB C to HDMI cable for the past week and is really impressed by the quality of both the picture and cable itself. It feels very sturdy and I know it will last a long time because I have been using the Uni USB C to DisplayPort cable for the past two and a half years and couldn't be happier. Both cables are of the same quality and build, we will be getting a lot of good use from this cable for our monitors working remotely.

Works with my new 15inch MacBook Pro 2017, connected to Dell P2415Q monitor, support 4K60Hz. The cable length is long enough to move around.
Both USB-C end and HDMI end are made of aluminium material, looks and feels good quality. The black and grey braided nylon cable part is pretty solid, seems like it's going to last for a long time. The black rubber part on the USB-C end is a new design, easily stands out among other products. Unlike other loose USB-C connector, it fits just right into the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro. Works great so far.

Use HDMI or DisplayPort cable is depends on what you need and what you will use this cable for, it all depends on you! I will tell you the differences between HDMI and DisplayPort so that you can choose depends on your real needs:
1. Speed:
The Maximum Transmission Rate to be sent through a DP 1.2 cable is 21.6 Gbps, Max Data Rate is 17.28 Gbps.
The Maximum Transmission Rate to be sent through an HDMI 2.0 cable is 18.0 Gbps, Max Data Rate is 14.4 Gbps.
2. Signal:
The HDMI features an audio return channel (ARC).
Contrary to HDMI, DP cannot carry Ethernet signals, nor does it have an audio return signal.
3. Usually used:
DisplayPort (DP) main focus computer displays and professional IT equipment, so more data-centered markets.
HDMI is the standard people most commonly find on appliances like television sets, projectors, and home computers.

DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode) allows a USB-C equipped computer to connect directly to a display or monitor, it is pointing to the USB C port. When you use the USB C port to output HDMI or DP signals, DP ALT Mode is the premise.
USB C Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen 1 / Gen 2 will support DP alt mode, you can check the specifications of your devices.
